We like Ben Gibbard. It’s safe to say he’s really talented and he has a unique voice with interesting lyrics to match. So, cutting straight to the point, we really like his Home EP Vol. 5. However, we consistently ignored the Andrew Kenny half of the record because we just weren’t feeling it. Sometimes you just want half a sandwich. Of course, they don’t usually make sandwiches that are half one type and half another and people are not sandwiches. Oh well. So, here are the four tracks from the release. Definitely favoring “You Remind Me of Home,” the most here, although the rest are good too.

And here are our favorites from The John Byrd EP. One thing that’s interesting about this recording is the fact that Gibbard was losing his voice a little because Death Cab tours like maniacs and they had played a ton of shows before this one. However, it’s almost better–in a way–to hear his voice when he’s losing it a little (no sarcasm intended). The comments he makes in between tracks are funny too.
