BMW Innovations: What If? [Video]

Definitely wouldn’t have gone with the music in the clip above–so we made our own dub-over version below (you’re welcome BMW)–but it’s interesting to see what BMW is doing with body design as the auto market shifts more importance on cosmetics.

Malibu: Welcomes You

Today was a strict mix of drive-time pleasure with a bit of business. Highlights consisted of a trip from Venice to Malibu, some Caribbean cuisine and orchid browsing.

Helios+Keith+Kenniff Goldmund aka Helios: MTV / Audi / Levis Advertisements

We’ve been fans of Goldmund aka Keith Kenniff, or Helios as we’ve known him from Merck Records releases, for about four years now. It’s cool to see that he’s branching out into commercials. It’s always fun to hear music you like in commercials because then at least, even if people are in the kitchen getting a snack or conversing when the music is playing, you know it made it out to people’s lives: regardless of whether they were paying attention. We always pay attention to music. Everywhere. Commercials, restaurants, bars, greasy diners, it doesn’t matter. We’re listening for what the music is. So enjoy these spots for MTV and Audi featuring music by Kenniff. We’ll be buying all of the Goldmund records for sure.

Speaking of commercials, shout out to Jon Lipman and the work he’s doing over at Machinehead Studios.

Ghostface: Charlie Brown Meets Scion

 Ghostface: Charlie Brown Meets Scion

Car companies have been incorporating dance music into their commercials for more than a few years, but the Toyota-owned Scion A/V has stepped past those hasty 30 second spots by releasing the music itself. Ghostface Killah lent his “Charlie Brown” track, left off of Fishscale because of licensing issues, to this Scion A/V 12″ series, to be remixed by several popular electronic musicians. Featured here is the mix from Orgasmic-of Paris-based rap group TTC-who brings some high energy French beats to back the vocals of a legend.

Ghostface: “It don’t even matter. It’s just names. People always get it twisted, you know, “Is this the Ghostface Killah?” Man, it’s whatever-whatever, you can name me Shithead if you want. I don’t give a fuck about all that. It’s real, man. A name is a name, and I make music. My niggas know my voice even without the name. That’s what it is.”

Check it out.
