If you like to read your music videos, here’s a video that makes sense of the “Be Stupid” Diesel ads. The clip features “Honeytrap” from We Have Band.

We got six video clips of the show (after the photos), two of Juan Huevos–who came all the way from North Carolina to make it out to the show–and four of ERAs. It was too bad that we couldn’t get more, but that’s all spilled milk now.

On Juan Huevos, we think he is a dope live MC and his performance was get-up and kept the crowd locked-in. Bringing a cover of Avril Lavigne, and getting half-naked towards the end of his show, it’s a performance we’ll never forget. However, we like Juan Huevos’ flows and instrumentals and find his style exciting even without the show and dance. Huevos’ is upbeat and different. Good things.

People like a good show, but if there’s not substance to the music, you could put on the best show in the hottest venue out there and it would be like eating a burnt grilled cheese sandwich at a five star restaurant.

Nathaniel Eras, or ERAS, really rocked out as well. Twiddling knobs and having fun while he played, things stayed engaging. Even though more abstract, glitchier music and melodies are more of an acquired taste, if you spend much time on the site you’ve probably noticed that we love experimental music in general and especially where technology and music meet. ERAS had a high-tech gadget-driven sound that we always enjoy hearing like sipping on a unique-flavored foreign drink.

At any rate, the show was hot. The videos are a bit dark and aren’t the best representation of what the show was like, especially since we didn’t manage to record all of the artists that performed, but that’s why you have to go out to these events for yourselves. We look forward to future shows from B.E.A.R.: rock, rock on.

And, here’s just a new variant of what we think you were really thinking.

So, Scott Herren is now releasing music under three monikers: Prefuse 73, Savath Y Savalas and his latest project with Zach Hill, called Diamond Watch Wrists. All three tracks are continuing the Prefuse 73 pattern of straying from his original style to more rock influenced tracks with breathy vocals and mellow beats. Of course, Herren has released plenty of laidback tracks in the past, but he seems to be following a trend with his music for the past couple years.

At any rate, on with the music.

First off, our favorite track, from the Savath Y Savalas project, entitled “La Llama:”

Next is more in line with the Prefuse 73 we know, and why wouldn’t it be–given that it’s released under the Prefuse 73 artist name–although still new and different compared to older Prefuse stuff.

And last, but not least, is from Herren’s latest project. We’re sure that people are bound to like this, but it’s just less up our alley since it’s so different from the Prefuse 73 we know. Of course, Diamond Watch Wrists could certainly start to grow on us.

Yes, so go ahead before we proceed, get it out of your system now and think comment or whatever you have to do to say that this is a tired topic.

Oh, yeah, and somehow gold teeth in the front are popular too. Can you say Goldie though? He’s been famous since 1992. This is also not a new thing. I’m not feeling the gold tooth action. Were you aware that gold is one of the best metals for conducting temperature? That’s not a good thing when it comes to your teeth. Temperature being conducted in your teeth better means more pain. Hey, we won’t stop people from shelling out cash to their dentists for gold teeth though.

Right, we’re talking about glasses though. What’s funny about glasses, though, is that there can be this psychological association between glasses and a person’s intelligence. The same way people make jokes about blondes being dumb, some Clark Kent glasses are going to make you look more like a librarian or a professor. What do librarians and professors do? They read lots of books and educate themselves. However unfortunate, there tends to be an association between a person’s education and their intelligence, even though someone could be brilliant with no education. You know you’ve heard someone say, “Oh, they’re smart then?” When being told another person has a 4.0 GPA or something, even though there’s not a direct correlation between your GPA and your IQ. Whatever though, the point is that glasses can make you look smarter or at the very least more serious. And this beg’s the question, my fellow hipsters, why so serious?

Sometimes it goes too far and you get that who pedophile thing popping off. Yet the whole “it’s hip to be square” concept rages on. Would you be more inclined to think the guy in the photo above is a skateboarder or some kid who works at your local bookstore? The trick is fading though, as more and more years pass by with people wearing the usually plastic-framed glasses with boxy or large round shapes.

Look at the glasses of the chick above! Do you realize how excessive the size of those frames are? Maybe it’s more practical because you see less frame and more viewable world, but we all know that this girl is not wearing these glasses because they improve the practicality of her life.

Then you have some Kanye West home-made rip-offs. In our post about Kanye’s 808s Heartbreak we posted up a photo of him wearing his trademark “glasses I can’t see as well through but wear regardless.” This is the antithesis of the practical frames sported by the girl above. This is when you’re so cool you don’t even have to see as well as you could because, yeah, you just don’t care about seeing as much as you care about fashion. We must sacrifice for fashion though, we know this.

Okay, I’m pretty sure the photo above is straight from American Apparel, but we don’t care enough to confirm that. American Apparel is popular with the hipsters, yes, but come on those headphones? Man, everybody who knows anything about music quality knows that the default iPod headphones are a disaster when it comes to sound-quality. For every Apple product I have purchased that came with these headphones I have left them in their small magnetic bag and probably thrown away eventually. I can’t stand tinny-sounding bass and music that is just thinned-out and watered-down thanks to some cheap-ass headphones. If you’re going to drop a few hundred bucks on something that you could live without like an MP3 player you might as well go the extra mile and get some decent headphones. Of course, maybe you can’t live without an MP3 player, but that is all the more reason that you should go the extra mile and buy some decent headphones.

Okay, we’re guessing, but we think this pic is of two guys. Yep, that’s an Adam’s apple. The guy on the right has stubble so we’ll give him the benefit of the doubt and just accept that he’s male. Hey look, he’s actually wearing decent headphones.

Although we don’t mind the music video for Katy Perry’s “Hot N’ Cold,” and the 8-bit remix of it is so-so.

Katy Perry is so manufactured. Her stylist basically just gave her a cool haircut and then her producer put her vocals over a catchy beat.
