Emopop (2)Emopop | hipsterwave - Part 2

‘Razor sharp electronic music with a heavy-metal soul that’s delivered with buckets of wit, panache and invention’ NME

‘A ballsy, firecracker’ Music Week

‘Sublime power-pop that covers you in goose bumps’ Vice

‘Fade Away’ is the irresistible new single from techno maestro Vitalic, due out on the 29th April through Different Recordings. It is the 2nd track to be taken from the brilliant ‘Rave Age’ album and comes complete with a deluxe remix package.

The brutalist roar of French producer Pascal Arbez and his trademark bleeding edge techno is in this instance juxtaposed by this synth-pop gem. Mixed by the legendary Stephane Alf Briat (Air, Phoenix) and featuring the sublime vocals of Joe Reeves (Shit Disco,) ‘Fade Away’ stands out on an album packed with big room, electro and indie-disco floor fillers.

Remixes include a feel good, beat-driven adventure from the much-loved French turntable foursome C2C, a pulsating display of house induced electronica from NOOB and a luscious Balearic sounding rework from Pascal himself.

’Waiting For You’ the new single from Kris Menace is a collaboration with Black Hills, a young hotly tipped vocalist from Washington DC, taken from the stunning vocal album, ‘Features’.

The remix package for ’Waiting For You’ contains stellar mixes from OLIVER (Kitsuné, LA), ‘Fingerpaint’ (one half of Classixx, LA)’, Dosem (Soma), Volta Cab (Isaev) and Vincent Fries (Work It Baby).

Black Hills explains, “I had so many vocal ideas for “Waiting for You,” and Kris built the song in just the most beautiful way. When I first heard the demos, I was immediately transported to the clubs’ bright lights and dark corners–I knew the lyrics had to capture that sense of excitement and possibility, when the night can take you anywhere. Listening to it now, even, I can’t wait for what’s ahead! ”

Kris Menace goes on to add, “I want that people feel good and special about listening to this track. It’s just got something magical about it”

Revolution - EP - KLP

Tracklisting: 1.Revolution, 2.Tropical, 3.Hands, 4.Roll With It

Having built up a rep over the past two years as a respected DJ and guest vocalist, KLP (aka Kristy Lee Peters) presents her debut EP, Revolution, her first outing as an artist proper. Her writing talent and singing skills have been combined with the fine co-production skills from DCUP, Cassian and Stu Turner on the tracks Revolution, Tropical, Hands and Roll With It.

KLP has collaborated and sung for various international producers and award-winning artists including Pnau, Dcup, The Coconut Wireless, Tonight Only and Adam Bozetto. She’s featured on or co-written no less than 20 tracks scheduled for release this year.

KLP has also worked with the likes of Chairlift, Lykke Li, 12th Planet and Gina Turner in her role as a key facilitator for Heaps Decent, the local initiative that facilitates music workshops around NSW for underprivileged kids.

“Caramel” immediately catches the eye, teaming DCUP’s expert production nous with the glossy vocals of KLP (who’s previously worked with PNAU). With a solo EP out in the coming months (through Chookie), Lee is one to watch out for.” – Indie Shuffle

Last month Goldroom’s summertime balearic-infused track ‘Only You Can Show Me feat. Mereki’ hit 110K plays in less than two weeks and was met with unanimous praise. Pitchfork commented that “it’s like hearing an old favorite return to the dance floor” and The Line of Best Fit called the track a “mainstay of Summer playlists from here on in”.

Now New York City’s DJ/producer super duo The Knocks have put their touch on the track in an official remix that premiered as a FREE DOWNLOAD today on Dancing Astronaut. Summertime meets soulful funk in this remix that radiates with all the glow of disco lights. As an added bonus, Goldroom shares a slice of the California sun with a Saguaro Mix of all of his latest favorite tracks including Alan Braxe, Tensnake, Kamp!, and more.

Goldroom’s live show has also taken off, playing several times at SXSW in Austin, Texas. Today he announces his 13-date Prima Tour of North America including both live and DJ sets.

Born from the simplicity of emotive choruses and lush electronic ornaments, Goldroom has transformed into a fascinating tale of modern music culture; a nostalgic romance of tropical textures and soulful rhythms.

After the success of his single ‘Fifteen’, which found itself with over 300,000 plays on Soundcloud, the top spot on the Hype Machine charts, features on Pitchfork, Spinner, MTV, and spins on BBC Radio 1, few can say that they’ve had a year quite like Goldroom. In less than that amount of time, Goldroom’s travels have seen him touring on stages in Asia, Europe, South America, Central America, Australia, and of course across the USA and Canada.

His follow up original single, ‘Sweetness Alive’ features the luscious vocals of Say Lou Lou (formerly known as Saint Lou Lou), a track that beautifully compliments his debut.

As an established remixer in his own right, Goldroom has gone on to work with such buzz-worthy acts as Niki & The Dove, Atlas Genius, Alpine, Poolside, and Gigamesh. Most notably, his remix for Niki & The Dove has been streamed more than 3 million times on YouTube and has been supported by The Magician, Aeroplane, Alex Metric and more.

Be on the lookout for even more from one of this year’s greatest success stories, both on the road and in the studio. With a full length album already in the works, you can rest assured that this remarkable tale will find you on a steady hunt for the dance floor.

When I make a mix I try and tell a story. These aren’t the newest or coolest songs on the block, and you probably wont hear me DJing most of them. But they’re all some of my personal favorite songs right now, and if I did things right, this will soundtrack some sort of epic drive that you take in the near future. I’m really happy with this one, and I hope I can help take you guys into spring right alongside me.

Oh also, the tracklist is below, including time signatures. I love all the artists that provided music for this mix and they all deserve your attention. Go check them out!
