Freaking out about the latest from Buff1, entitled Ghosting.
Ghosting is broken down by Buff1′s label / marketing group as follows,
a project that gives listeners insight on the types of artists and music that inspires Buff1. Giving himself one week to write original material, Buff1 created this free project to be released into the blogosphere. Choosing songs that coincidentally had space for Buff1 to spit, none of the original songs have been edited.
Buff felt there were obvious similarities between the music on this project and one of his favorite Ghostface songs “Holla”; on which Ghost raps over the entire Delfonic’s song “La-La Means I Love You”. Ghosting also happens to be a game where one person follows behind another, mimicking their movements as closely as possible, without being detected.
The Ghostface homage, combined with Buff1 trying his best to follow in the footsteps of the artists who inspired him to write this project, made the title obvious. Lastly, don’t sleep on the exclusive bonus track “Better” produced by Slot-A.
Okay so we’re feeling all of the tracks on the release, but the bonus track is what inspired us to get on this. Buff1 has this habit of releasing songs every few months that get us all amped-up and excited. Get that spine-tingling sensation popping because you just discovered a track you like. We’re going to host the entire free release, both for streaming and downloading, but we strongly urge you to peep the track “Better.” Such a dope idea to take lyrics from Phoenix’s “Fences” and put it in some super cute digitally processed female sounding vocals.

French animation artist Cedric Berthier heard Now On’s song “All You Ever Knew” from their classic album Tomorrow Already and was instantly inspired to create this video. The trio, which includes Mayer Hawthorne along with IX Lives (son of Larry “Squirrel” Demps of the legendary Dramatics) and Jackson Perry, dropped Tomorrow Already in 2008 just before Mayer’s debut.
