Fresh off of their sold out spring tour of Europe, Peanut Butter Wolf, James Pants, Dam-Funk, and Mayer Hawthorneare now touring the US & Canada. Peanut Butter Wolf will be mixing music videos live, James Pants is performing with his band Royal Zodiac, and Dam-Funk and Mayer Hawthorne will be Djing. Mayer Hawthorne will perform a few songs with James’ band as well. This will be the first US tour for James Pants, Dam-Funk, and Mayer Hawthorne and the best tour for Peanut Butter Wolf. Car companies have been incorporating dance music into their commercials for more than a few years, but the Toyota-owned Scion A/V has stepped past those hasty 30 second spots by releasing the music itself. Ghostface Killah lent his “Charlie Brown” track, left off of Fishscale because of licensing issues, to this Scion A/V 12″ series, to be remixed by several popular electronic musicians. Featured here is the mix from Orgasmic-of Paris-based rap group TTC-who brings some high energy French beats to back the vocals of a legend.
Ghostface: “It don’t even matter. It’s just names. People always get it twisted, you know, “Is this the Ghostface Killah?” Man, it’s whatever-whatever, you can name me Shithead if you want. I don’t give a fuck about all that. It’s real, man. A name is a name, and I make music. My niggas know my voice even without the name. That’s what it is.”

It’s a synthesizer spectacular everyone. That’s right. Lipp is bringing the heat here. We find his interview below funny, but more interesting is his style of music. Everything from jazz to electronic video game sounds to heavy basses and catchy beats are within. One funny thing about this record is that every track on it is four minutes and 20 seconds long.

Diplo is Philly-based Wesley Pentz. In case you were wondering, Hollertonix is a club and music collective. Pentz was born in Mississippi. He has DJed at the famous Fabric Club in London, which is where he was approached by his future girlfriend and colleague, M.I.A.: a British songwriter, record producer, vocalist and artist. Diplo has actively remixed a number of songs and is arguably more active in his remixing than in his production of original tracks. However, with fickle and scattered nature of people’s taste in music these days, remixing is becoming more common than ever before.
