Saw this on MTV earlier and it’s so bad. Normally, we keep it positive about the musics, but this song and video are ridiculous. Will.i.am is like junk food for music. Think about all the reasons you wouldn’t eat junk food then think about this song and how weak sauce it is. Will.i.am was working on a business deal with Universal Music Group and we heard he’s a fairly opinionated dude. Not just like strong convictions, but opinionated in a pretentious way. Don’t ask how we know that.

Will.i.am shouldn’t have to tell us how hard the beat is, really. The beat should just speak for itself. Come on buddy!

Then there’s the whole involvement of Mick Jagger. Seriously? Jagger should be thanking Ke$ha right now because since she and Maroon 5 wrote tracks playing on the words “swagger” and “Jagger,” which seems to have created an unfortunate ripple-effect. Now we have to listen to and more horribly see Mick Jagger still performing. Yes, the Rolling Stones made awesome music, but that was years ago, and unfortunately their time has passed. In the entertainment business, sometimes retirement really isn’t such a bad thing. Rather than going hard, Jagger should just go home!

We’ve got that crisis like Jagger, because this song reeks of an older dude trying to be cool for Jagger. You’ve got to know when to fold them, just like if you’re on a casino online. It’s so tempting to go hard though and try to win big when you’ve got money to burn, isn’t it? Call us what you will, but when we gamble, we like to get our video poker on. Okay, we’re biased. Got love for Pit Bull since we met him at an MTV2 VMA event. He’s super humble and nice in person, as opposed to some of the massive egos you encounter in music. He was singing along and dancing to his own tracks, getting everyone hyped-up for his stuff. It was a great time. At any rate, here’s a recent live performance of his featuring Ne-Yo + Marcus Canty. Yeah, this already has 21 million views and is from October 15, but Mike Posner is still awesome and the song still rules. The best part about Posner is that he does the vast majority of his synthesizer melody work himself. In the case of “Please Don’t Go,” the synthesizer work pretty much made the song. We respect that Posner has that talent with melody.

So many musicians are just proper vocalists who don’t even write their own lyrics, so it’s always refreshing to see artists who know how to play instruments, use sequencers, digitally process their own sounds, etc. It’s indisputable that vocals are half the battle in most pop music, but why wouldn’t a song be more “yours” if you were involved in every process of its creation. Jack Conte is a great example of this. So is Owl City, even if it’s probable that he gets a lot of outside input on his music now that he’s signed with Universal Republic Records. Group efforts can result in good music as well, of course, but we’re fans of the all-in-one musician (to a reasonable extent).

So, remember that episode from Season Three of the MTV show Rob & Big? Well, it inspired us to write a post about stylish big mens clothes. You can see from the clip below, that if you’re a big dude? You’re probably going to have a hassle with some things in life. Of course, these clothes wouldn’t necessarily be a perfect fit for Christopher “Big Black” Boykins, but the search for comfort in life should continue for everyone. Rob Dyrdek (pro. skater) is pretty hilarious, but when he actually gets into a fat-suit made by a Hollywood special effects make-up artist, he sees what some of the big dude struggles that Big confirms for him.
