SIX FANTASTIC NEW WATCH DESIGNS FROM SWATCH COMBINE ACTION, INSPIRATION AND IMAGINATION TO CREATE EXTREME STYLE STATEMENTS

Swatch presents its latest Sports collection for the summer of 2012. Aligning with its previous releases, these watches feature one of the brand’s best selling models, the New Gent, with all-over patterns inspired by various action sports. The Swatch Sports Collection stylishly confirms the iconic Swiss watch and jewellery maker’s long-standing enthusiasm and support for international Action and Extreme sports. Swiss watchmaker, Swatch, opened its doors back in 1983 with an idea to combine top-quality craftsmanship with affordable prices in an effort to fight against the rise of Japanese-made products. Now one of the more dynamic watchmakers today offering unique innovations.

Six striking watches have been designed by members of the Swatch Proteam – the highly skilled riders proudly sponsored by Swatch. These dynamic creations combine the technical excellence and design innovation for which Swatch is world famous, to convey some of the breathtaking energy, spirit and motion associated with the exciting disciplines of snowboarding, surfing and FMX. With highly personal design inspirations behind the Swatch Sports Collection ranging from classic surf films to animal prints, or nature and bikes, the six men and women from the Swatch Proteam collectively prove their design flair and creativity – colourfully expressed through drawing, photography or customizing – are as impressive as their sporting talents.

APHEX TWIN’s remote orchestra (full lengh edit) [Video]

Here we have Aphex Twin’s ego in full-effect. Slow start–possibly excessively long intro (jump about two minutes into the video to skip it)–but interesting overall.

iPhone 5: Will Have a Sharper and Bigger 4.6″ Retina Display

iPhone 5: Will Have a Sharper and Bigger 4.6″ Retina Display

First-off, the latest iPhone–4S–has a 3.5″ (89 mm) diagonal screen. It’s anticipated that the iPhone 5 will have a larger screen, more like the current screen size of Google’s Galaxy Nexus phone (pictured below). The people over at iLounge.com accurately predicted that The New iPad would be thicker than its iPad 2 predecessor, and here’s what they recently said about the iPhone 5:

Our source says that the next-generation iPhone will not look like the teardrop-shaped version that was widely rumored for release in 2011. We’ve been told that the device will have a 4-inch display and will be 8mm longer than before, with a metal casing (probably aluminum). It is on track to be introduced in summer of 2012, and is still in the engineering phase, not early production. We suspect that poor battery life doomed the prior prototype version, and that this one is being built with LTE-ready battery drain in mind.

TheVerge comparison between Galaxy Nexus (4.65″) and iPhone 4S (3.5″)

It will be much nicer to have a larger screen for those of us who use our phones compulsively. You know, when you get to the point that you have to exercise restraint to avoid offending people by how excessive your phone use is.

For heavy iPhone users, it seems like we try to squeeze as much functionality as we possibly can out of the small devices, even when doing certain tasks becomes really impractical compared to performing them on a full-sized computer. If you’re on the market for a new phone, you can get mobile phones with free gifts over at phones4u.co.uk. Just saying.
