So we first heard Hearts of Palm UK (HOPUK) here in LA at Echoplex and we think it’s about time we posted about their music. The three-member band is based in Los Angeles and writes rich synth-pop that is quite fitting for the pleasant weather always seen in sunny California.
“Would You Believe:”
Erika Elektra is plays keyboard and is the lead vocalist (also on sequencer, omnichord, guitar and autoharp), while Frankie Rose is the on glockenspiel, miscellaneous percussion and keyboard, and Billy Kaye plays the cello/strings.
HOPUK keeps it real by keeping their music edgy by collaborating with artists such as Velapene Screen (that’s right, we already heard about Velapene). Also, the band sometimes incorporates political messages into their songs (as heard in “Super Tuesday”).
