Confusion in her eyes that says it all.
She’s lost control.
And she’s clinging to the nearest passer by,
She’s lost control.
D. Ramirez has really outdone himself with this dance-floor-designed bootleg version of one of his favorite classic tracks by British band Joy Division, “She’s Lost Control.” The song centers on Peter Hook’s cool, droning, minimalist bassline formed over a methodical and mechanistic drum beat courtesy of Stephen Morris. Bernard Sumner’s guitar work is sharp and clipped and Ian Curtis’ lyrics is about a girl having an epileptic seizure (i.e. “losing control”).
D. Ramirez’s sound combined with those of Joy Division and New Order is a divine combination that makes perfect sense. It’s always really fun to see classic tracks remixed/updated with a current style of music, because songs you love are given new energy and life.
The bootleg is definitely different, described as ‘Deep, Dark and a Rolling piece of Tech Noir,”
