First off, let’s talk about putting people in boxes.
Azealia Banks recently hated on the use of the word “hipster” and said if you’re cool, you just are.
Maybe she’s so pissed-off because people have been labeling her as a hipster because of photos like this:
People signed to labels like Interscope and XL never try to create artist images / personas. Right? Because image is nothing to musicians. It doesn’t make them money or have anything to do with the entertainment business. Glad that’s settled.
People are instinctively programmed to put everything into convenient categories so they can organize.
Obviously, categorizing people or anything can lead to hasty generalizations. People aren’t logical though — so even when something is proven to be a logical fallacy — that doesn’t matter as far as people’s behavior goes. Kadoy braj. What else is new?
You can now add luxury cruises to your list of “hipster activities.” We have GoldenVoice to thank for this — likely to be hedonistic — pleasure cruise called S. S. Coachella. Sounds pretty good!
